Bishop Zarama will celebrate Mass for the National Association of Pastoral Musicians Convention on July 18, 2019, at 4:45 pm at Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral.
Choral Evensong in a Catholic Context
Choral Evensong is a choral evening prayer service that combines elements of Vespers and Compline. While its roots are in the Catholic tradition, it has been adapted over the centuries in the Anglican tradition and has reappeared in Catholic practice in the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter. Come experience this liturgy at Sacred Heart Church, the former Cathedral for the Diocese of Raleigh, and the smallest Cathedral in the contiguous United States.
Bishop Luis Zarama will visit the campus of Saint Thomas More in Chapel Hill to dedicate the new St. John Fisher Chapel on the South Campus. The Bishop will also bless the Bishop F. Joseph Gossman Center and the St. Thomas More Preschool.
Bishop Luis Zarama will celebrate Mass at 11:00 a.m. on October 13 and dedicate the new Saint Sharbel Parish.

Bishop Luis Zarama will celebrate a bilingual Mass at 10:30am on Sunday, August 25th 2019 during which he will officially pronounce Saint Bernadette Church as a Parish.

The Mass is open to the public but the reception afterwards is for seminarians and their guests only.
In 2018 over 200 runners and walkers registered for this event which is held at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary. Omar Wiggan took top honors in 17:05. Seventeen-year-old Lucille Ketterer won the women’s competition in 20:10. Ryan Kaat holds the course record for this event running 16:19 in 2011. Michelle Langan set the women’s standard of 17:39 in 2014.
The mile run begins at 8 am, and the 5K starts at 8:30 am. Bishop Luis Zarama will be present to bless the runners.
