Bishop Burbidge Ends Temporary Precautions for H1N1 Virus
The Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge has announced the lifting of the temporary liturgical precautions put into place in September out of concern for the H1N1 Virus. In a letter to Catholics in the Diocese of Raleigh, Bishop Burbidge says the lifting of the precautions is based on the current information regarding the virus issued by the Centers for Disease Control. The Bishop is requesting parishes to re-institute the Sign of Peace and Holy Communion from the Cup as early as March 28 but no later than April 18.
Below are the Bishop’s letter and a list of questions, with answers, that were asked by the faithful during the period of temporary precautions.
