Parishioners Respond Generously to National Collections
Catholics in the Diocese of Raleigh are being thanked for their generous response to two recent national collections.
A letter of gratitude was received by the Diocese from the US Conference of Catholic Bishops Office of National Collections for $78,631.30 donated by parishioners in November for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.
Bishop Michael F. Burbidge also received a letter of appreciation from Very Reverend David M. O’Connell, C.M., President of The Catholic University of America, for a Diocesan contribution of $62,971.60. In his letter, Father O’Connell noted how the generous contribution from the Diocese of Raleigh will assist many capable and deserving students in receiving needed scholarship support, enabling them to study at the “National” university of the Catholic Church in the United States.
The next scheduled collections will be for the Holy Land on Good Friday; Catholic Home Mission Appeal on April 25; and the Catholic Communication Campaign May 16.
Information on the 12 national collections is available online at www.usccb.org/nationalcollections.
