The Catholic Church in the United States will celebrate National Vocation Awareness Week, January 10-16, beginning with the Solemnity of the Baptism of Our Lord.  This year’s theme, Baptized in the Spirit, recalls how the Holy Spirit leads us to a life of holiness and mission in the Church.

The Office of Vocations is providing lesson plans and materials to parents and catechists in order to highlight what it means to be called by God to holiness and mission in the life of the Church.  The lesson plans and materials can be found on the Vocations web site  (www.raleighvocations.org) under Resources and are available for a range of ages.

National Vocations Awareness Week is also meant to challenge each person to pray to hear the Voice of God and to discern their unique calling from Christ which is both gift and mystery.
