Catholic Bishops in the Mid-Atlantic Region Urge Congress to Overhaul Immigration Policy
The Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge, Bishop of Raleigh, and the four other bishops of the Province of Atlanta sent a letter to their senators and members of the House of Representatives, urging them to continue working for a comprehensive immigration reform policy. The letter was signed by Bishop Burbidge, Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory of Atlanta, Bishop Robert J. Baker of the Diocese of Charleston, SC, Bishop J. Kevin Boland of the Diocese of Savannah, GA, and Bishop Peter J. Jugis of the Diocese of Charlotte.
