Stations of the Cross Reflections

Father Burke offers a modern reflection on the Stations of the Cross bringing together the central themes of embracing our own cross, compassionating others with understanding and empathy, and persevering through the trials of daily life, sickness and the unpredictable, but inevitable challenges we all encounter. The meditations are offered as a renewed appreciation for this venerable tradition of walking with Jesus to Calvary and identifying ourselves as Jesus walking within our lives on our own journey. As St. Thomas Aquinas says, 'The Passion does not have its full effect, unless we make it personal for ourselves.' Meditating on the Passion of Christ by walking with him to his death and then pondering that He lives now, beyond death, is a special grace for all of us. You will find these meditations inspiring for your Lenten journey.
