About the CFO/COO
Russ Elmayan is a native of suburban Los Angeles and has been formally associated with the Diocese of Raleigh since 1990, although his first connection with the Diocese came in the late 1970's through his involvement as a graduate student with the Newman Catholic Student Center at Duke.
Mr. Elmayan holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Southern California, a Master of Business Administration degree from Duke University, and a Master of Pastoral Studies degree from Loyola University.
After spending ten years working in corporate administration on the West Coast, he returned to North Carolina and began his formal association with the Diocese of Raleigh in 1990. He has held the roles of Assistant Business Manager, Director of Business Services, Chancellor, Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer.
Mr. Elmayan provides oversight of the daily operation of the Diocese to include Business Services, Human Resources, Catholic Charities, Stewardship and Development, and Property and Construction. He serves as liaison to the Diocesan Finance Council and to the Diocesan Building and Real Estate Commission.
