Letter from Bishop Zarama
Dear Friends of Catholic Schools,
Beginning on January 28, 2018, our nation once again celebrates Catholic School Week. Schools in the Diocese of Raleigh will join other Catholic schools throughout the country as we celebrate the great gift of Catholic school education.
This year's theme is "Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed." It encompasses four very important values that all schools should strive to attain, with Jesus Christ at the center of all that we do.
As I begin my tenure as Bishop of Raleigh, I am pleased that our Catholic schools are strong in their Catholic identity and am grateful to our pastors and educators for their commitment and dedication. I look forward to visiting our schools in the future and pray for their continued success.
I am also grateful to the parents and families of the 9,000 students who attend our schools. Thank you for putting your trust in our schools. I am keenly aware of the many sacrifices that are made to make a Catholic school education a reality for your children. I am confident that the school and parent partnership will lead our young people closer to the Lord.
May Our Lord Jesus bless you and may Mary, Our Mother watch over you always.
Sincerely in Christ,
+Luis R. Zarama
Bishop of Raleigh
