2017 Love My Life Rally set for January 21

Love my Life events on Saturday, January 21st, 2017 will be held rain or shine!

On Saturday, January 21, hundreds of teens from around the Diocese will gather on Halifax Mall in downtown Raleigh to celebrate the gift of human life at the 7th Annual Love My Life Rally. Joined by parents, parish leaders, and volunteers from partner organizations including Catholic Charities and the Knights of Columbus, the teens will take up Pope Francis’ call, issued to the millions of young people who gathered in Poland this past summer for World Youth Day, to “get up off of the couch” and to become “social activists” in defense of human dignity.

“The times we live in require only active players on the field, and there is no room for those who sit on the bench! Today’s world demands that you be a protagonist of history because life is always beautiful when we choose to live it fully, when we choose to leave a mark.” (Address of the Holy Father, Pope Francis, at the World Youth Day Prayer Vigil, 2016)

This year’s event features Paul J. Kim, an internationally-recognized speaker and recording artist who has been featured on EWTN and whose videos have garnered over one million views on You Tube. In addition, the Love My Life Rally will welcome singer-songwriter Ben Walther, who has co-written songs with Matt Maher and Robbie Seay, and whose album debuted at #12 on the iTunes Christian charts.

The Rally will conclude with a bilingual Mass celebrated by the Reverend Michael Shugrue, who will be joined by priests and deacons from parishes across the Diocese. All are welcome to attend the Mass, and participants are encouraged to join in the annual March for Life sponsored by North Carolina Right to Life.
