Catholic Charities raises nearly $200,000 at annual gala

On November 5, over 300 people came out to support the 6th Annual Catholic Charities Gala. The event was held at the Downtown Marriott in Raleigh. The event raised nearly $200,000 to help support the efforts of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh.

“This is a special night to come together and raise awareness about the powerful work of Catholic Charities throughout the Diocese,” said Lisa Perkins, Catholic Charities assistant director.

The evening featured the Cardinal Gibbons String Quartet and a silent auction. Top items from the silent auction included many exciting items, such as a private dinner at the Angus Barn with Msgr. Lewis and Msgr. Sherba and a private tour of the Cathedral with Msgr. Brockman.

Bishop Michael F. Burbidge, Bishop of Raleigh, gave the keynote speech. He thanked guests for their generous support which allowed Catholic Charities to serve nearly 59,000 individuals last year.
