Second Milestone Anniversary Mass Held in New Bern
Approximately 100 couples attended a milestone Wedding Anniversary Mass Sunday, May 4, celebrated by the Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge. The Mass was held at Saint Paul Catholic Church in New Bern. The liturgy was the second celebrated by Bishop Burbidge in two weeks honoring couples marking their 25th, 50th and more than 50 years of marriage. The overwhelming majority of couples present were married for 50 or more years.
This is the second year the Diocese is commemorating the milestone anniversaries. Two Masses were held this year in an effort to make the celebration accessible to more people in the 54-county diocese. Last week, the Mass was held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Raleigh.
