New Bern Deanery to Host January Vocations Celebrations
Annunciation Catholic Church in Havelock will serve as host for the January Vocations Celebration, which takes place each month in one of the Diocese’s eight deaneries. Annunciation, which is in the New Bern Deanery, will celebrate a Holy Hour beginning at 7:00 PM on January 21, with Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge presiding. The monthly Vocations celebration affords the faithful in the Diocese the opportunity to pray for vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life.
The remaining three monthly celebrations are:
- February 4, 2011 – Newton Grove Deanery
- March 11, 2011 – Albemarle Deanery
- April 8, 2011 – Cape Fear Deanery
Each month, parishes and schools in the Diocese conduct a First Friday for Vocations event, listed at the link below. If your parish has a First Friday event that is not listed or if the information is listed incorrectly, please send your event information to the Office of Vocations in care of sara.edwards@raldioc.org.

Diocesan Prayer for Vocations
Father, in your plan for our salvation
You provide shepherds for Your people.
Fill Your Church with the spirit
of courage and love.
Give the Church more Priests,
Worthy ministers for Your altars and ardent
but gentle servants of the Gospel.
Grant also to us an increase
in vocations to the Religious Life.
May more of Your people respond to Your call
in a spirit of joyful generosity.
May they serve Your people with love
by following in the footsteps of Christ Your Son
and provide by their way of life
a convincing sign of Your kingdom.
We ask this through Christ Our Lord.
Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us.
Amen
