Bishop Burbidge Celebrates All Saints Day Mass

Most Reverend Michael Burbidge celebrated Mass on the Solemnity of All Saints at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Raleigh, November 1. The feast day honors all saints, known as well as those unknown or forgotten. On this day, Catholics ask for their prayers and intercessions.

“As children of God,” Bishop Burbidge said in his homily, “they proclaimed and lived Jesus as their rock, entrusting their entire lives to God. At every moment, especially at this altar at the celebration of the Eucharist,” the Bishop added, “we are joined to the Communion of Saints.”

Encouraging the faithful to live like the saints, as children of God, Bishop Burbidge said, “Be counted among the blessed and be filled with the joy that this world can never take away.”
