Catholic Charities Launches Billboard Campaign
Hope is Just Around the Corner
This billboard message is the first public campaign for Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh. The billboards can be seen in three locations across Eastern North Carolina in celebration of Catholic Charities USA’s Centennial Anniversary. The billboards are located in Washington, NC, along I-40 East near Newton Grove and on I-95 near Dunn.
“I was inspired by Bishop Burbidge’s public service announcements on WRAL radio,” said Patricia Reid, Development Director of Catholic Charities. “We wanted to raise awareness in the Diocese that Catholic Charities has been serving Eastern North Carolina for the past 100 years, and we are the same Catholic Charities that you know from your own hometown.”
Catholic Charities organizations throughout the country are guided by the same mission: to provide service to people in need, to advocate for justice in social structures, and to call the entire Church and other people of good will to do the same.
The two-month campaign began in September and will continue throughout the month of October. Fairway Outdoor Advertising greatly reduced their prices for artwork and the rental rates for September, and donated all rental fees for October. In addition, Fairway has offered to display the announcement, printed on a vinyl poster, on unsold locations beyond the rental period.
“The billboard project was a pleasure to work on,” said Reid. “Through the generous support of Fairway, Catholic Charities was able to stay within its modest budget, and the reaction from our supporters has been joy and excitement!”
