AAMEN Holds Lenten Youth Retreat
The Diocese of Raleigh Office of African Ancestry Ministry and Evangelization (AAMEN) conducted a Lenten Spiritual Retreat March 26-28 at Short Journey Retreat Center in Smithfield. The weekend began with Stations of the Cross on Friday evening and concluded with Evening Prayer.
Saturday sessions were conducted for three age groups with high school age students learning about Pope John Paul II’s “Theology of the Body,” while middle school age students held a session on Reconciliation. Separate sessions were held for both groups on Respect Life.
All participants took part in the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Evening activities included team skits based on Palm Sunday, a discussion on poverty and Evening Prayer.
