Bishop Burbidge Extends Prayerful Wishes for Holy Week in Broadcast Message

A Lenten and Easter message by Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge is being broadcast over several television and radio stations in the Diocese of Raleigh.

The 30-second message is broadcast several times a week on TV stations in the Triangle, in the New Bern-Greenville-Washington market and on CNN and Fox News Channels on Time-Warner Cable in the Triangle, Fayetteville and Wilmington markets. The same message is also being carried on several radio stations in the Diocese, including four along the Outer Banks and Elizabeth City area.

The broadcast spots are made possible through donations made by parishioners to the Catholic Communication Campaign, which is taken up in parishes in May with half going to communication/media projects produced and conducted by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and half remaining in the Diocese. Among other Diocesan projects supported by the annual collection is the new video service now available on the Diocesan Web site, produced by the Catholic News Service. It features video news reports from CNS reporters based in Rome and Washington, DC.  It can be accessed from the home page of the Diocesan site by clicking on the button on the right side of the page that reads CNS Video.
