Altar Server Mass Attracting Huge Response
Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge will celebrate a Mass of Appreciation for Altar Servers on Sunday, November 8 at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh.
When first planned, the Mass was scheduled to take place at Saint Luke the Evangelist Church in Raleigh, but the response is so great that the celebration is being rescheduled for the high school. As of Tuesday, November 3, approximately 900 altar servers and their families responded to the invitation, representing parishes throughout the Diocese.
The Mass will provide Bishop Burbidge with the opportunity to recognize altar servers for their generosity and service in their vital role in liturgical celebrations. The servers are being asked to wear their altar server vestments.
RSVP’s are being accepted by parish offices. Cardinal Gibbons High School is located at 1401 Edwards Mill Road in Raleigh.
