Carolinas' Catholic Family Day Set for September

larger font

On Saturday, September 28, the Dioceses of Raleigh, Charlotte and Charleston will join together for Carolinas' Catholic Family Day at Carowinds Amusement Park in Charlotte. Families from North and South Carolina are invited to join with their Bishops, the Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge of Raleigh, the Most Reverend Peter J. Jugis of Charlotte and the Most Reverend Robert E. Guglielmone of Charleston, for a day of fun and fellowship.

The event was suggested by Ms. Katherine Angulo, Diocese of Raleigh Youth Ministry Director, to her counterparts in the other two dioceses, as an opportunity to bring families together to celebrated liturgy as well as camaraderie.

Families interested in attending the day-long event are asked to register by September 13 in order to have an accurate head count. The day will begin with registration at 9:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated in the park’s theater at 10:30 a.m., followed by a picnic lunch. Families will then be able to enjoy the park until closing at 5:30 p.m.

The cost for the day is $40 per person, with children under two years of age free. Registration will be available on the Diocesan website within the next week. For information, contact Ms. Angulo at katherine.angulo@raldioc.org or 919-821-9770.
