Catholic Charities Executive Director Kathleen Walsh Retires
A retirement luncheon was held for Catholic Charities Executive Director Ms. Kathleen Walsh on Thursday, December 20, 2012, at the Catholic Center. Ms. Walsh is retiring following 24 years as head of the Diocesan agency. Present at the luncheon were Diocesan staff and Catholic Charities staff from the regional offices.
In his remarks, the Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the “faithful and generous service you have provided to the Diocese with compassion. You’ve been a gift to Bishop Gossman and to me and to our parishes and communities throughout the Diocese,” the Bishop said.
Kathleen spoke of the long-standing commitment of the Diocese to the poor and vulnerable, expressing her gratitude for the opportunity to serve. She noted that she grew up in a family with a dedication to faith and how faith and family are important to her and so very present in our Diocese. “Catholic identity and family are the cornerstones of everything we do,” Kathleen said.
