larger font

This week’s edition of Catholic Perspective features a discussion with Father Marcos Leon, pastor of St. Ann Catholic Church in Clayton and Vicar for African Ancestry Ministry and Evangelization. Father Leon explains the ministry, which includes the growing number of Catholics in the Diocese coming from African nations.

As Vicar, Father Leon also helps coordinate the Native American Catholic ministry in the Diocese. In the interview, Father discusses trips this summer to the annual National Black Catholic Conference in Indianapolis and to the Tekakwitha Conference in New York, which focused on the upcoming canonization of Blessed Kateri Tekakwith, a Native American who will be canonized by Pope Benedict in October.

Catholic Weekly, the Diocesan radio program, features the interview with Father Leon and an interview with Amanda Roberts, author of “Saints of the Pedestal: Real Saints for Real People.”
