The Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge will meet with Pope Benedict XVI at 11:00 AM (6:00 AM ET) on May 7 as Archbishops and Bishops from Region XIV in the United States make their ad limina visit to the Holy See. The visit is required off every Diocese in the world at intervals to provide a written report to the Holy Father detailing all that has occurred since the previous visit. They will report as well on plans for the coming years.

During the visit, the Bishops will also meet with leaders of several Vatican Congregations. Each day they will celebrate Mass at one of the basilicas in Rome. Accompanying Bishop Burbidge on the visit will be Rev. Msgr. David D. Brockman, Vicar General of the Diocese.

On Sunday, May 6, Bishop Burbidge celebrated Mass at the North American College in Rome, the seminary of U.S. seminarians. Currently 250 men from 100 Dioceses are in formation at the College. Next year, the Diocese will have two seminarians enrolled at the North American College. (Seminarian formation is made available through funding by the Bishop’s Annual Appeal.)

The information above was made available by tweets sent by Bishop Burbidge to those who follow him on Twitter. Those who use Twitter can follow the Bishop @BishopBurbidge.
