Bishop Encourages Generosity to Annual Collection
In a letter to the faithful of the Diocese, the Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge has called attention to the USCCB’s annual national collection for Black and Indian Missions, to be held in parishes on February 19, 2012. Expressing gratitude for past generosity and encouraging consideration of a renewed gift this year, the Bishop noted that a significant portion of the funds collected are returned to the Diocese to benefit the activities of the office of African Ancestry Ministry and Evangelization, which also coordinates ministry to Native American Catholics.
