Diocese Sponsors Special Broadcast Commemorating 9/11

This Sunday, September 11, 2011, the Catholic Diocese of Raleigh is honored to sponsor a special program titled North Carolina Remembers 9/11, featuring the North Carolina Symphony. The program is presented by the Symphony and its partners, WRAL-TV/Capitol Broadcasting, UNC-TV and the Triangle Interfaith Alliance.

The program, which will air on WRAL-TV at 8:00pm, will feature spoken word reflections and excerpts from Mozart’s Requiem and Raleigh composer J. Mark Scearce’s This Thread, based on the poem “The Dead of September 11” by Toni Morrison.

In addition to the 8:00pm broadcast, North Carolina Remembers 9/11 will be broadcast LIVE in its entirety on UNC-EX, the Explorer Channel, Sunday, September 11 at 7:00pm, with a repeat broadcast on UNC-TV at 11:00pm.
