Woman’s Right to Know Bill Update
The North Carolina House plans to take up the Woman’s Right to Know Act, HB 854, the week of Jun 6-10, 2011. The bill originally was scheduled for a vote this week. On Wednesday, Bishop Michael F. Burbidge and Bishop Peter J. Jugis called on the faithful in the Diocese of Raleigh and the Diocese of Charlotte to telephone their State House representative encouraging a vote in favor of the proposal that will require a set of notifications for women considering an abortion, including the offer of an ultrasound, in order to make an informed decision.
