Bishop Burbidge's Prayer at N.C. Senate

Blessed are you, Lord, God, of all creation,
Whose goodness fills our hearts with joy.

Blessed are you who have brought us together this day to work in harmony and peace.

We ask your blessing upon the men and women of the North Carolina Senate.

Strengthen them with your grace and wisdom.

Inspire them to work together to strengthen our families and communities so as to uphold the sacredness of all human life and the dignity of every human being.

May they temper justice with love, so that all their decisions may be pleasing to you, and earn the reward promised to good and faithful servants.

May the Lord bless you and keep you.

May his face shine upon you and be gracious to you.

May he look upon you with kindness and give you his peace.
