Catholics Requested to Ask NC Senators to Support Unborn Victims Act

larger font

The North Carolina Senate Judiciary II Committee is expected to discuss The Unborn Victims of Violence Act/Ethen’s Law, H-215. The State House approved the measure by more than a two-to-one vote last week. The bill, which is similar to laws in 35 states, recognizes two lives when someone injures or kills a pregnant woman.

The Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge, Bishop of Raleigh, and the Most Reverend Peter J. Jugis, Bishop of Charlotte, are asking Catholics in North Carolina to contact their state senators asking for their support of the proposed legislation. In a letter to the faithful, the Bishops request either a phone call or an email to the respective senator.

Please click here to take action by sending your state senator an email showing your support of this legislation. The link will also provide the telephone number.
