Catholic Charities Regional Partnership Highlighted on Catholic Perspective
This past year, Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Raleigh provided assistance to more than 54,000 individuals in the 54 counties that comprise the Diocese. The services included direct help with food, clothing, counseling and a variety of training opportunities.
Catholic Charities operates seven regional offices, with a portion of its annual operating budget provided by the Bishop’s Annual Appeal. While each Regional office offers basic services, each office provides additional programs, determined by the needs of the community it serves and looks to work in partnership with others.
An example of that partnership can be witnessed in the Raleigh Deanery, where the Regional office works hand-in-hand with local parishes in operation of Catholic Parish Outreach (CPO). The Regional office also oversees the Hispanic Family Center, which operates out of the same building as CPO. Both programs are discussed in this week’s edition of Catholic Perspective, the Diocesan TV program. Guests are Raleigh Regional Director Rick Miller-Haraway, CPO Director Terry Foley and Hispanic Family Center Director Consuelo Kwee.
Catholic Perspective is available on the following Time Warner Cable systems in the Diocese:
Raleigh on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. on Cable Channel 22; in Durham on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. on Cable Channel 8; in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Hillsborough on Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. on Cable Channel 8; and in Greenville on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. on Cable Channel 69. The program is also broadcast on the Time-Warner Faith on Demand Channel in Craven, New Hanover, Brunswick, Onslow and Pender Counties, allowing viewers to watch at any time during the week.
