Due to extreme weather reports, NC Bishops not attending March for Life, NC Mass for Life

Current weather reports indicate extreme and potentially dangerous wintry conditions expected in Washington, D.C., and along the route to the nation’s capital. Thus, Bishop Jugis (Diocese of Charlotte) and Bishop Burbidge (Diocese of Raleigh) are not attending this year’s March for Life nor the NC Mass for Life. Mass will still be held, however, at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception at 11:30am for those already in Washington, D.C., or who still plan on attending the March for Life.

With safety as the utmost concern, Bishop Burbidge strongly encourages parishioners from North Carolina to exercise good judgement in determining whether or not they will travel over the next few days.
