Join the faithful from across the Diocese of Raleigh for an evening talk with Dr. Mary Healy, Thursday, May 19, 2016, 7:00 PM-9:00 PM, in the Parish Center at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Cary, NC. Pope Francis has declared 2016 to be a year “steeped in mercy, so that we can go out to every man and woman, bringing the goodness and tenderness of God!” In the Gospels, Jesus’ mercy is often revealed in his healings of the sick. This talk will explain how the Lord’s healing power is still at work today, and how we can experience his healing in our own lives and be his instrument to those in need.
Dr. Healy, an internationally-known speaker, is professor of Scripture at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, Michigan. She is a general editor of the Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture and author of its volumes The Gospel of Mark and Hebrews. Her other books include Men and Women Are from Eden: A Study Guide to John Paul II’s Theology of the Body and Healing: Bringing the Gift of God’s Mercy to the World (Our Sunday Visitor, 2015). Dr. Healy serves as chair of the Doctrinal Commission of International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services in Rome and was appointed by Pope Francis as one of the first three women to serve on the Pontifical Biblical Commission.
