Diocese Produces Resource Video for Confirmation Candidates
Baptism, Confirmation and the Eucharist are the three Sacraments of Initiation. Confirmation is the sacrament in which the Holy Spirit comes to us in a special way to join us more closely to Jesus and His Church and to seal and strengthen us as Christ’s witnesses. (Catechism 1285, 1316)
Hundreds of students in parishes throughout the Diocese of Raleigh are preparing to receive the sacrament of Confirmation in the coming months. The preparation includes studying the Catholic faith, by praying and witnessing to Christ.
As a resource to assist parish coordinators of Confirmation, the Diocese is providing a video tape of questions and answers to each parish, that the Confirmandi are expected to know prior to receiving the sacrament. The video presentation features Bishop Michael F. Burbidge and twenty-six students from the Diocese of Raleigh discussing the questions and answers.
The video, which is available below, provides an opportunity for parents, sponsors and all Catholic faithful to review basic teaching of our faith.
