"At the name of Jesus, every knee should bend, of those in heaven and earth and under the earth and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father." (Phil 2:10-11)
On January 3, the Church celebrates the optional Memorial of the Most Holy Name of Jesus. To mark this day in the Diocese of Raleigh, the Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge respectfully requests the Diocesan faithful “to pray fervently for the continued success of our Cathedral campaign. May our work and efforts to honor the Holy Name of Jesus in the building of our beautiful Cathedral be carried out always with profound trust in His divine assistance.“
Devotion to the Holy Name is deeply rooted in the Sacred Scriptures, especially in the Acts of the Apostles. The month of January has traditionally been dedicated to the Holy Name of Jesus.
