Bishop Burbidge visits seminarians in Philly! 2 take steps toward diaconate

Bishop Michael F. Burbidge recently traveled to St. Charles Borromeo Seminary to visit with some of the Raleigh seminarians studying there. The trip involved private meetings with each seminarian to see how their formation is coming along and to give them an opportunity to share their experiences with the Bishop. The Diocese also has seminarians studying at the Pontifical North American College (Rome), Seminario Hispano De Santa María De Guadalupe (Mexico City) as well as Pope St. John XXIII (Weston, MA). The Diocese has 29 men in priestly formation.
During the trip, Bishop Burbidge celebrated Mass in which Edisson Urrego and James Magee made a Profession of Faith and an Oath of Fidelity, which are often made by men approaching ordination to the Order of Deacon. They are scheduled to be ordained to the transitional diaconate at Sacred Heart Cathedral on April 2. Mass begins at 10 a.m.
