Bishop Burbidge calls for prayers following tragic terror attack at Istanbul airport

In response to the horrific terrorist attack at the Istanbul airport late Tuesday evening, Bishop Michael F. Burbidge of the Catholic Diocese of Raleigh has asked that all parishes remember the victims of the attack during the special prayer intentions at all Masses this weekend. In addition, he offers the following statement:

Following the tragic attack by militants at the Istanbul airport, in which initial reports indicate 41 people are killed and more than 230 injured, I offer my deepest condolences to the victims and their families, as well as my heartfelt prayers. I also ask the Catholic faithful throughout eastern North Carolina, and all those of good will, to pray that our world leaders will be blessed with the strength and wisdom to work together in bringing an end to terrorism. May all of us experience and embrace the peace that is found only in Christ Jesus.
