- Youth Financial Aid: The Paul Paquette Scholarship Fund
This scholarship fund was established in 1990 by the Diocesan Youth Board to honor Paul Paquette, an outstanding volunteer, who gave over 16 years of service to youth ministry. While also a youth leader in his home parish, Paul cooked meals for all Diocesan youth programs held throughout the Diocese before settling into the kitchen of Short Journey Center. This scholarship fund is supported by by collections at Search Masses, $1 from each youth's registration for Disciples on the Journey, Convention and Jr. High Jamboree, individuals and church groups such as the Knights of Columbus.
- Adult Financial Aid: Msgr. John A. Wall Scholarship Fund
Msgr. John A. Wall, Pastor and Campus Minister at the Newman Catholic Student Center Parish in Chapel Hill, was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Raleigh December 18, 1960 and has committed himself over the past 41 years to building up the Diocese in a variety of roles including parish and campus ministry and establishing the Human Resources Office of the Diocese. Msgr. Wall was also a pioneer in the field of youth and young adult ministry for the diocese. While serving as Director of Youth Activities, he developed many impactful programs which continue to shape Youth Ministry in the Diocese of Raleigh today.
