About the Director of Stewardship and Advancement
Tim Breslin joined the Diocese of Raleigh as the Director of Stewardship and Advancement in December 2010. A native of Wilmington, Delaware, Tim was previously the Director of Development for Duke University’s Catholic Center.
Tim was the first Director for Development at his alma mater, Salesianum School in Wilmington, Delaware. In his role at Salesianum, he nearly tripled the annual fund to over $650,000 in five years while also helping to lead an $8.2 million capital campaign, Ensuring Gentlemen for Tomorrow, for seven campus projects and endowment in celebration of their 100-year anniversary. Tim also grew alumni participation from 13 percent to 23 percent and initiated parent participation in the fund, growing in two years to nearly 60 percent participation.
Tim then served as Director of Advancement at Malden Catholic High School, a Catholic preparatory school outside Boston, Massachusetts. At Malden Catholic, Tim led a team of professionals to overhaul the advancement office in preparation of a capital campaign. Working with the Board of Trustees and Headmaster in strategic planning, he also spearheaded the growth of the annual fund from $440,000 to $950,000 in just four years. During the same time, Tim led a major gift program resulting in multiple six and seven figure gifts. Tim also led the school’s celebration of its 75th Anniversary culminating with an event which raised over $500,000. Tim has been a featured presenter at NCEA and NEACDO conferences.
Tim also has over 10 years' experience in consulting for Catholic educational institutions and other non-profits. After graduating from the University of Delaware, Tim worked for a number of years for professional sports teams such as the Baltimore Orioles, Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Flyers, and 76ers in public relations and video productions. Tim and his wife, Tanya, have three children.
