Regional director. Full-time bilingual position available July 1, 2012, for Catholic Charities Newton Grove Region; office is located in Newton Grove, North Carolina.

Requirements: North Carolina Licensed Clinical Social Worker; MSW; three years supervisory and administrative experience in social services; practicing Catholic in good standing; knowledge of and commitment to Catholic teachings and practices and the mission of Catholic Charities; status as a legal permanent resident or U.S. citizen; demonstrated skill in therapeutic counseling services, supervision and management; proven ability in public speaking, excellent writing skills and proven ability to work with culturally diverse church, community and client groups. Bilingual in Spanish/English oral and written communications.

Child and Family Counseling Position and School Counselor/School Social Worker. Counseling position working with children and families and providing school counseling services in Catholic schools in Wake County is open immediately. 27 hours per week including some evening work. Basic Qualifications: Master’s degree in mental health field with LCSW or LPC in North Carolina; Experience working with K-8th grade children necessary; proven ability to provide culturally competent therapeutic services; proven computer skills; knowledge of and commitment to Catholic teachings and mission; status as a legal permanent resident or U.S. citizen.

Position entails:

  • Counseling of children and adults in an outpatient counseling center in Raleigh
  • Short-term counseling of K-8th grade students in a school setting;
  • Assessing student needs and making referrals to appropriate community resources;
  • Classroom guidance presentations on topics such as conflict resolution, self-esteem, sexuality, bullying etc.
