Bilingual Pastoral Administrator in North Carolina

Glenmary Home Missioners and the Diocese of Raleigh seek a Pastoral Administrator for St. Joan of Arc Parish in Plymouth, NC to be appointed by the Bishop to lead a small English-speaking and a growing Spanish-speaking community. The ministry includes ecumenical involvement, evangelization, justice work and the nurture of a missionary Catholic church.

Requirements: a master's in theology or pastoral ministry, fluency in both Spanish and English and three years' full-time experience in intercultural parish ministry, preferably in a rural Southern area.

The Office for Lay Ministry strives to help the People of God in the Diocese of Raleigh recognize that they are unique, gifted members of Christ's body called through baptism to grow in faith and love, to be a community which supports one another on their journeys of faith, and to carry on the mission of Christ to the world.

We provide opportunities for human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral formation; for the development of skills necessary for lay ministry; and, for on-going support of the minister. Our goal is to provide the baptized with the leadership skills they need to minister to others.

The words of St. Paul to the Corinthians are reflected in the logo of the Office for Lay Ministry Raleigh: We have each been baptized into Christ and with Christ as our head we have become one body. Together we are called to be formed by the cross in order to be Christ to the world today.

Through the Office for Lay Ministry the Diocese of Raleigh offers resources for lay people who:

• Want to know more about their baptismal call
• Are interested in or currently serving in specialized ministries
• Are seeking advanced theological studies or advanced training for ministry
• Serve as lay ecclesial ministers in the Diocese of Raleigh
