About the New Evangelization

Simply put, while the Church has always evangelized—to lead one another to Christ, the expression “new evangelization” is a response to the new challenges that the contemporary world creates for the mission of the Church. “It is the courage to forge new paths in light of the changing circumstances and conditions facing the Church” to transmit the faith.

To accomplish this, we need to consider three broad steps:

  1. Understand the situation of the world today in which the new evangelization is to take place.
  2. Describe some characteristic features of the new evangelization
  3. Develop actions to apply the new evangelization in a systematic way.
