Courage / Encourage
Courage is a Catholic spiritual support community for persons with same sex attractions. It aims to assist homosexual men and women – and their families – to deal with homosexual attraction in light of the moral and spiritual teachings of the Catholic Church.
The Courage Goals
- To live chaste lives in accordance the Roman Catholic Church’s teaching on homosexuality.
- To dedicate our entire lives to Christ through service to others, spiritual reading, prayer, meditation, individual spiritual direction, regular attendance at Mass, and frequent reception of the sacraments of Penance and Eucharist.
- To foster a spirit of fellowship in which we may share with one another our thoughts and experiences so that none of us will have to face the pressures and problems of homosexuality alone.
- To be mindful of the truth that chase friendships are not only possible but necessary in a celibate Christian life- and to encourage one another in forming and sustaining them.
- To live lives that may serve as good examples to other homosexual persons.
EnCourage is the affiliate support group for parents of men and women with homosexual leanings. This support group helps family members deal with their concerns. It works and prays to develop peace and open communication between parents and adult homosexual children.
