This assessment is designed to assist individuals involved in faith formation to determine focus areas for ongoing growth and development, both personally and professionally. Based on National Certification Standards for Professional Parish Directors of Religious Education (National Conference for Catechetical Leadership), Competency-Based Standards for the Coordinator of Youth Ministry (The National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry), and Competency-Based Certification Standards for Pastoral Ministers (National Association for Lay Ministry, Inc.), this tool is not intended to be used for job descriptions, job qualifications, or professional evaluation. Not every area of proficiency may be applicable to an individual ministry focus, and the full extent of topics is not exhaustive.
