Where will the buses pick up the pilgrims?

  • The sites are to yet to be determined.
  • We expect at least 1-2 buses per deanery.
  • Depends on the number of pilgrims registered and where they are located. We will have a better idea after the registration deadline February 15.

Option #2 buses - what time will they arrive in DC?

  • The goal is for all Option #2 buses to arrive at the Basilica no later than 10:30am on Saturday, April 12.

Will the promoter have to register people from their parish?

  • No. Only if they are assisting with a Youth Group Registration.

Who are the “Group” Registration forms used for?

  • Youth groups (minors under 18) and the adult chaperones that travel with them. All others register by using the individual/family form.

Who keeps track of people registering?

  • Diocesan registrar.
  • After the registration deadline, we will supply the parish promoter with a list of the pilgrims registered from their parish.

Will pilgrims receive a Confirmation Letter after registering?

  • Yes, after the deadline (Feb 15). The letter will include transportation arrangements, bus schedule/logistics and other relative information about the trip.

Will Mass at 3 p.m. fulfill the obligation for Sunday?

  • No. Our pilgrimage is a special sacrificial gift to the Lord and the Blessed Mother.

What hotel are we staying in?

  • Holiday Inn Washington/Dulles, Sterling, Virginia

How are roommates assigned (i.e., “My college friends and I would like to room together; how do we ensure that”)?

  • Roommates will be assigned based solely upon request on registration form. Use the individual registration form and register separately; all persons will be assigned to a room based on their registration form and the names of their roommates listed under the “Accommodations” section.
  • A family can register using one form.

If we make our own travel arrangements but want to have lunch with the other pilgrims at the Basilica, do we still need to register?

  • Yes. We need you to register so that we know how many to serve lunch.

Can we still attend the festivities even if we make our own travel arrangements?

  • Yes.

Is there a reduced rate for children?

  • No.

Is there a charge for infants?

  • Only if they occupy a seat on the bus.

Are car seats required for the bus seat?

  • We are checking into that.

Can pilgrims make their own transportation arrangements but still stay at the hotel and be part of the pilgrimage festivities?

  • Yes, be sure to make a note of such on the registration form. We will make the $60 per person adjustment to the registration fee; however, we do encourage everyone to travel with us by bus.

Will we be able to stay for the Pope’s visit?

  • Our pilgrimage is independent of the Pope’s visit and there are no plans to stay longer than Saturday the 12th. If others want to stay in DC, it will be at their own expense.

Will there be an informational meeting for the Parish Promoters?

  • Yes, date to be announced.
