Deferred/Planned Giving
Revocable Living Trust
Another popular way to make a gift is to include the Diocese of Raleigh as a beneficiary of a revocable, living trust.
If you wish to include an unrestricted distribution to the Diocese of Raleigh in your trust, the following language is suggested:
"All trust property not previously distributed under the terms of my trust shall be divided and distributed, free of the trust, as follows: Michael F. Burbidge, Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Raleigh, North Carolina, and his successors in office ________ percent to be used for the benefit of the Diocese of Raleigh in such manner as the Bishop thereof may direct."
Taxation:
- The beneficiary is taxed on income received during the life of the trust.
Benefits:
- Principal available to donor upon demand.
- Estate tax deduction.
