Job Description: The communications specialist is responsible for creating bilingual (English and Spanish) content to promote the important work of Catholic Charities. The position will utilize various communication methods to highlight the impact of Catholic Charities in the community and increase brand awareness within English- and Spanish-speaking populations throughout the Diocese of Raleigh. This position will work with regional staff to tell success stories, maintain the online presence for the agency, and create marketing materials. Work will include travel to regional offices throughout central and eastern North Carolina.
Required Qualifications: Associate or other 2 year degree; 1-3 years of experience in journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field; Fluency in oral and written English and Spanish communications; Proven writing and editing experience; Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple projects; Knowledge of or ability to learn how to operate a DSLR camera; knowledge of and commitment to Catholic teachings and the practices and mission of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh; valid N.C. Driver’s License and a vehicle in working order for business use; authorized to work in the U.S.
**Position will require occasional night and weekend work
